Hello, only one or two seconds? my God, your lucky. I will now give you a hint, read on.
I would advise you not to worry about a couple of seconds as it wont kill you . XP is a good system so don’t change it, again I will explain. I had XP home edition which is only one below XP Pro and it did every single thing I asked of it, then one day after 7 years my poor XP went belly up and I had to buy a new Computer, but what I forgot was it came embedded with windows7, and that’s when the trouble started. To be sure I could go to the far reaches of the Universe with windows7, but it was no good for music programs which is what I’m involved in. I did some checking up and I found that about 60% of world wide music company’s are not compliant with windows7. Having said all that all you have to do find a friend who’s using windows7 and try and download an XP program into it and you will see exactly what I mean unless the company itself has changed over to win7. As of yet, not many have. No matter what others might say, I know exactly what I’m talking about. Stay with XP as long as you can. So, as I said, don’t worry about a couple of seconds. Cheers.
If you mean System Idle Process, that’s the computer doing nothing, so it should be high. But I suspect that every once in a while some other process uses close to 100% of the CPU, and that;s the "hesitation" you’re seeing. With XP running in less than 2GB of RAM, that’s not surprising.
It usually happens to systems where the mainboard’s or other components drivers were not installed, or where the pagefile has been set to 0 bytes. Appart from those reasons, there’s nothing else but maybe some bad piece of software that causes such behaviour.
Just seems natural! In fact I had a laptop with 2gb ram, with nothing much filled in its memory! It just stuck quite frequently! So, dun wry bro! Its k!
