   First thing to do is to press CTRL + ALT + DELETE on your keyboard and bring up the Task Manager. Then click on the "Processes" tab and then look at all the processes that are running. Sort them by memory and you’ll see which programs are taking up the most resources on your system. You should close down all the programs that are taking a lot of memory & CPU speed, and see if the processing light is still flashing.

   You might also want to use a tool called "Frontline Registry Cleaner". This is a registry cleaner which has as junk file remover attached to it, and basically works to scan through your PC and remove any damaged or corrupted files that your computer has inside. This might be a reason why your system seems to be processing things all the time – because it has to look at many corrupted and damaged files continuously.
