Roughly how much would it cost for a small business to get the following done to their HP laptops by a computer repair firm (11 HP laptops):
-reformat HDDs
-install windows XP
-install adobe acrobat
-install an anti-virus programme
-install MS office
-run a full diagnostic
-clean the exterior of the PCs
how much would it cost, excluding any transportation costs, and costs of buying the software?
what would be the average cost? is per PC (0 total) a good deal for buyer and seller?
i know i could do all this by myself…i am doing it for someone else…just wanted to make sure i was giving them a good deal, but not too good.
oh well, no such thing as too low of a price as long as we stay afloat.

Are the machines exactly the same as far as hardware, or are they a random assortment? Will you be using imaging software like Ghost?
If using something like Ghost on identical machines, I’d say at least $75 per machine. If you’re doing it by hand, figure $50 per hour and 2-4 hours per machine.
this isnt about your question ,its about mine, ive done theat alot now and i wanna move past it, i should edit that into my question. But about your question, probably $500-$700. Dont sweat it.
By law, only 1 license key per computer so you need to purchase windows xp and ms office separately for each computer. Total cost-
$4,000
ALL COSTS ARE PER LAPTOP
reformat is included in the xp install for free
install windows xp if you still have the sticker (that green thing on the computer) $5, if not $100
install acrobat, for standard:$300, for pro:$450 for pro extended:$700
install anti-virus and full diagnostic is as low as $50
install MS Office is $100
clean the exterior of the pcs should be $15
It varies per company and the contract setup. Some companies (government agencies) have IT specialist contractors that do the entire setup before it reaches each employee’s desk.
HP generally provides OEM packaging and accessories software with license purchases for small businesses or larger businesses on a higher amount though. I’m pretty sure even a geek computer support center charges more than $40 a PC. Probably $100 a PC.
But you can always employ an IT specialist in your company who has knowledge on repairing small tech computers and network management and pay them the correct price per hour and handle all the maintenance fees with unlimited licensing on the software.
You could do that all yourself, rather easily as well. I it would probably save you a lot of money.
However, $40 would just be for the Labour. Anti-Virus Programmes aren’t Cheap, XP is at a decent price, though. MS Office isn’t cheap either, and running a full diagnostic will probably incur further costs.
I can help you with everything, if you wish to take the penny saving route, and do it yourself. PM me if interested.
Hope that helps, Buddy.
$40 per PC for those services is VERY good. Geek Squad I know charges MUCH more than that.
$40 per PC is a very good deal. Usually could easily cost you $100-$120 for individual machines, and $80-$100 if you do it in bulk.
$40 per PC is an excellent value. Best Buy’s Geek Squad would charge $200 per machine.
Just do it yourself for free 😀 Lol geek squad wanted to charge me 100$ just to look at me PC to see if anything was wrong. I just started laughing.
