It could be your registry…I learned the hard way – and "Free" registry cleaners don’t exist. Anytime you are using a free software, its just another one sitting in your m/c making it slower…and worse, some of them are noting and/or sharing what you are doing.
This one is cheap and it cleared 2 yrs worth of junk from my pc in 1/2 hr…may be worth a shot?

This same thing happened to me and I had to do a total master reset on my laptop. I bought an external hard drive of about 600 GB and stored everything that I had on my laptop in it. Then I erased everything on the computer and restored all factory settings. It took care of the problem and my laptop has been running smoothing for about 6 months. Just make sure to keep automatic updates set, have anti virus updates, and don’t download stuff that are not safe.
Also after you do maintenance of cleaning out files and programs, empty out the recycle bin.
Did you run Disk Cleanup too? Be sure to check all boxes too.
One thing you haven’t done is a disc cleanup…that will compress all files to make room on your hard drive and "C" files for more programs or software…the drive is probably at or near maximum capacity because of your recent downloads…you have very little room left…a disc cleanup should do the trick……..
If its just your internet make sure you have a good connection.
You might be out of RAM or Computer space
If its still slow you can try going to my computer, right click the drive your using, and schedule a drive check when you restart
Microsoft Registry Problems = Slow Computer!
