its probably a self replicating virus called a space eater virus. run a virus scan, see what it finds. good luck!
There could be a few things doing that – system restore points being saved, a virus, you’re downloading things, you’re looking at websites with large graphic files …
hard drive is not your memory.
maybe you downloaded a too big video
There are a few possible answers. One could be that your pagefile is filling up too much space, another could be simply too much stuff.
Try DiskMax (http://koshyjohn.com/software/diskmax.html), it will clean up all your junk, every last bit.
Try WinDirStat (http://windirstat.info/), it will tell you where all the space on your hard drive is being used, what files are the biggest, and what type of files they are.
If none of that works, look for a virus or a trojan. Get rid of any P2P software, such as Kazaa, Limewire or Morpheus. Download HijackThis (http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/) and upload the logfile it makes to (http://hijackthis.de). It will tell you if your PC has any bad viruses.
Make sure you have an antivirus (like AVG http://free.avg.com/ca-en/homepage) and an anti-malware (like Spybot S&D http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.html) and check your pc with both of them.
Hope this helps!
