they are right, your hard drive might be dead.
by the way about the pokemon battles sorry that i sometimes leave in the middle of a pokemon battle,
the wifi at my house can be dumb sometimes, that or i have to leave.
From the information you’ve presented, it seems that the computer is not detecting your hard drive.
First check BIOS setup, make sure all the drive controllers are enabled, and all the drive controller channels are set to AUTO.
Listen to the drive when the power is first turned on. Do you hear the drive spin up? Do you see the hard drive light turning on or flashing. If you don’t, remove the side panel and check if the power connector (molex or sata) is connected properly and securely. Switch the power connector if there are no signs the drive is receiving power. As a last resort, install the drive into another computer. At this point the drive is probably faulty, or at least not reliable. Replace the drive.
If the drive has power, make sure the data cable is connected properly and securely. Switch the data cable or if the drive connects via IDE try the other end of the cable. If the drive was just installed and it connects via IDE, make sure the jumper settings are set up properly. If the drive is the only drive assigned to that its cable, set it to master or single. If two drives are connected to one cable, then one must be assigned master and the other, slave. Most drives and cables also support cable select, so the cable determines which drive is the master or slave. If that doesn’t work try switching the drive controller. As a last resort, try installing the drive into another computer. If the computer still can’t detect the drive, replace the drive.
I didn’t read the whole thing. but i think the problem is that either you harddrive crashed or unplugged.
Sounds to me like the hard drive has died – you can still see it in the bios as it does not read data but when the system tries to read data from it then it fails
