Try GarbageClean from http://www.SecureMyWindows.com to scan & remove spyware, malware, trojan and viruses.
You need virus protection that is true but you do not need to buy it from them. You can buy your virus protection software from anyplace you want.
Make sure you buy a good one, I use Windows Live One Care and I like it a lot. You also need to get a software firewall. This stops programs from accessing the internet without your knowledge and it stops programs from the internet attacking your computer!
If you do buy one make sure you keep it up to date. You should scan your machine at least once a week. Most virus programs allows you to schedule these scans for whenever you want. I have mine scan at 3 am so it does not slow my machine down.
I would suggest that you avoid the free scanners, they tend not to be as robust as the comercial ones. Also there are some people who write virus scanners and actually use them to access peoples computers!! You get what you pay for!
Windows Live One care has a free trial so go ahead and download it! It also handles backups for you!
Enjoy your new machine!!
They usually pre-install the trial versions of several anti-virus/spyware programs and you have to buy it, usually after 30 days, to continue using it. As was stated, you do have several free options you could use. Try http://www.download.com and peruse their offerings.
I will give you mines if your willing to pay. Just buy one or use a free one.
By the way, how do stores talk? 😀
Do not purchase virus protection. AVG and AVAST are free and work well.
Chose One, not both
1.Avast: http://www.avast.com/eng/programs.html…
2.AVG Free: http://free.grisoft.com/doc/downloads-products/us/frt/0?prd=aff
There is nothing more important to any computer than a strong virus/hacker/spyware program. There is some freeware out there, but none have been able to stand the tests I have done. I have been able to hack through most.
I will strongly suggest sticking with one of the major companies – like McAfee or Symantec. I particularly like the way McAfee has a bundled set of services (all the things I mentioned are available as one piece of software with central management) and its features are outstanding.
In computers, there are only two things you can’t screw around with. One is the ability to repair the device for free or very cheap (i.e. – if you’re not a crazy computer monkey like myself, get at least a 3 yr service agreement). The other is the protection of the device from predators. They’re there – waiting on a website, or in an email.
I hope this helps. I don’t even care if this is chosen as the best answer – I want you make it clear that you have to use a proven and reliable product and McAfee is it.
