Lots of registry cleaners are free to download and will even clean a few files. But to install you have to buy the program. If your computer is running slow.. download AdAware or Spybot and scan your computer for errors. Both programs are free and do a good job of cleaning and speeding up the computer.
The only reg cleaner I trust is the one from TuneUp Utilities. I have used it on my computer and others for years and never had anything damaged. Try it from http://www.tune-up.com
It is 30 days free, plenty of time to clean.
If you want to clean your files, use C-Cleaner http://www.ccleaner.com
I do NOT recommend it for registry though, it messed mine up but does allow backups before ruining it…
