http://www.registrycleaner.compare-consumer-reports.com/ I found this site has a free ebook that explains why my computer is slow. Do people really need to know what the system registry is?

I don’t know about the site you have there. It’s new and has no rating with WOT I would not download anything from them. Registry Cleaners which ever one you decide to get make sure it does a back up of the changes it makes. But I’ve never seen one test where a registry cleaner did much to improve the speed of a computer. To test this your self, when you decide to take the steps to speed up a computer that needs it. Run the registry cleaner first. Nothing else. I’ve did that on about 5 computers, did not help much at all. Look at it this way, there are tens of thousand entries in the registry. Run a registry cleaner, if it’s really nasty in there you might have 100 items. Cleaning out one hundred from that many does not make a computer faster. At best you may get a little gain. There are much better steps to speed up a computer. There is also a danger in cleaning the registry. So make sure you back up.
Registry cleaners are extremely powerful applications and their potential for harming your OS far outweighs any small potential for improving your computer’s performance.
There are a number of them available and some are more safe than others. Keep in mind that no two registry cleaners work entirely the same way. Each vendor uses different criteria as to what constitutes a "bad" entry. One cleaner may find entries on your system that will not cause a problem when removed, another may not find the same entries, and still another may want to remove entries required for a program to work. Without research into what the registry entry selected for deletion is, a registry cleaner can end up being an automated method to cause problems with the registry.
For routine use by those not familiar with the registry, the benefits to your computer are negligible while the potential risks are great.

Allot of registry cleaners are scams, but cleaning your registry is very important to keep your computer clean.
ccleaner is widely used by the tech savvy community and others.
It is a registry cleaner amongst other things.
IMO(in my opinion) I say skip the eBook.
The registry is what tells the computer what data belongs to what program.
Corrupted or missing registries can effect the computer, using ccleaner can help clean up corrupted registries.
Though the computer can’t just be slow from registry, there are tons of factors, registry being the least.
ya ..
this will help and you can improve some knowledge on it
