Just do not download any old thing and try it expecting to just remove it if it does’nt work. Some of that software gets all over your system and is very difficult to remove it all!

There really isn’t one program that does it all for free. It really depends on what kind of problems you’re having. There’s no software that will "fix" broken hardware either. So if your hardware is failing or not working correctly no amount of software fixing is going to help.
Are you looking for antivirus? Try AVG free.
Are you looking for spyware cleanup, use AdAware and Spybot.
For general disk cleaning (get rid of temp files, etc.) use CCleaner. All of these can be found by searching CNet.com for the program names.
If you’re having other problems, it may be more helpful to list what specific problems you’re having. The more specific your info, the more specific the answer you’ll get.

There is a FREE software. Download AVAST. it is by far, one of the best and will kill any of trojans, viruses etc… spyware, etc.. that you have and you won’t need anyhing else but this.
It runs in the background and won’t slow your computer in any way.
