my suggestion is to buy Kaspersky. McAfee is not bad but they don’t detect all virus and spyware. McAfee’d have registry cleaner but if you want best security then go for Kaspersky.
Try CCleaner. I’ve had very good experiences with that, plus its freeware, so there are no nags to purchase it. I think you can get it from http://www.download.com or http://www.ccleaner.com Good luck in finding one right for you.
They remove applications key’s that they "login" to your computer telling it what it’s using. I don’t think any have access to the internet to put spyware back on your computer. Tune Up Utlities is a good registry key cleaner; also if you are looking for spyware cleaner use Avg 7.0 "old ewido"
I use Mcafee Quick Clean lite. It will automatically scan your pc for all of those items. Never had a problem with it. It lets you review what it will be tossing away before you do anything just in case.
Reads like you are having questions as to whether your registry is over packed, or you are looking for reasons to explain why your computer is running slow.
Just wondering if you can speed things up. Maybe a little.
Registry cleaners remove all registry keys that have no connections anymore. Once that is done, the good ones, Registry Cleaners, can keep log files "fdata" files from building up on your machine.
MODders, Graphic Designers, Gamers, Power Users, use these registry cleaners to clear out all the old registry keys that built up when they deleted files, software, games, renewed or upgraded their tools. And installed new; software, games, or what you do.
