Registry Cleaners and optimizers actually work.
Simple ones are useful, but it’s not to say that registry cleaners don’t work.
It’s good for you to use a registry cleaner or a registry optimizer to clean registry and repair registry errors, clean useless files to free up disk space, defrag registry to reduce registry access time and application response time, simplify your startup menu and optimize OS often.
take a look at this article: why we need registry cleaner optimizer?

Before you buy a registry cleaner, make sure that the one you buy is compatible with your OS and it should be a safe one.
CCleaner and Degraggler are very good.
the others show hundreds of errors in my computer when in fact it’s running great.
Hi,
"YES" your friend was correct and this is how to use them.
download CCleaner, install it and then run it, this will safely delete all your temp files etc for you, then reboot back into safe mode again (press F8 as it boots up) and defrag your hard drive to get all your free space back again, i think your system is full of rubbish and just needs a good cleanup.
CCleaner will also clean your reg files correctly as well, but please remember to reboot between doing a disc cleanup and a reg cleanup.
Defaggler will defrag your drive quickly and cleanly.
this will help you, (i promise).

http://www.defraggler.com/download
This is a completely free download and will not harm your system in any way.
Now please also do this :-
boot back into windows and run "CHKDSK" :-
start -> run -> command line then type chkdsk /f (the /f switch tells it to fix errors). You’ll also need to mention the drive you want examined. Just put the drive letter ahead of the switch (eg. chkdsk C: /f). you will now be asked to reboot your system as it boots up it will start to check your drive with scandisk and then fix any errors you have as well.
hope this all works for you.
A registry cleaner is a type of software utility designed for the Microsoft Windows operating system whose purpose is to remove redundant or unwanted items from the Windows registry. However the necessity and usefulness of registry cleaners is a controversial topic, with experts not agreeing on their benefit. The problem is further clouded by the fact that malware and scareware is often associated with utilities of this type.
