get Avast it offers a really solid protection against threats. It has protection against anti-spyware & anti root-kit. Using it’s Web Shield the computer is protected against browser hijacks blocking access of hijacked websites. also features a heuristics engine and a Gaming Silent mode. The Mail Shield protects the computer from infected email messages, while it’s Instant Messaging Shield protects the system from IM threats. It supports a lot of IM clients like Windows Live Messenger, AOL, ICQ, Yahoo Messenger and others. Another great feature is the Peer-to-Peer Shield, which scans all the files downloaded with P2P clients. Some of the supported clients are: LimeWire, Ares, DC, BitLord. Avast has a Behavioral Shield which monitors the system for any suspicious behavior, and it’s Network Shield monitors the network activity in order to stop virus from infecting the system.

•Launch Malwarebytes’ anti-malware and click the "Perform quick scan" radio button. Click "Scan." Malwarebytes will scan the system for malicious malware.
•Click "OK" when the scan is complete, then click "Show scan results." Place a check on all the detected malware and click "Remove selected." Malwarebyte’s will remove all detected malware.
•Restart your computer normally to complete the process.
pop ups dont necessarily warrant viruses, and firefox is usually pretty good about blocking pop ups and/or alerting you about viruses. if you want to be extra sure, there is a really good anti spyware, anti-trojan, pretty much anti-everything program that you can download for free. i used it when my laptop got infected with 3 very nasty trojans that my mcafee or norton could not handle and it took care of them easily.
the program is called Malwarebytes, and here is the link.

so in short, no you probably dont have a virus just because you got a pop up, but it never hurts to be careful. good luck!
download this free program its great http://www.malwarebytes.org/
No. Sometimes computers or laptops do that in case you have a virus so you can fix your computer in case one comes up.
Two pop-ups doth not an infestation make. If you don’t have several pop-up blockers turned on ( Firefox itself has one), a pop-up from a website will occasionally make it onto the screen.
If you start getting pop-ups while on just about any website or when you’re not even in a browser, THEN you have some adware and should work to get rid of it.
Hope that helps.
