I currently have Windows XP Pro edition, and would like to start over with a clean install on the same computer, I am not able to locate my old cd’s to prove that I am eligible for an upgrade.
Any suggestions on ways around this?
I have also read about installing a new copy of XP on the same harddrive to co-exist with the other copy of Windows xp.
Any thougts are appreciated.
Thanks
Excellent idea, thank you.

Easy way, see if anyone you know has a Win 98 SE disk you can borrow to reinstall XP.
Another way, check ebay for a Win 98 or Win 98 SE disk and keep them handy.
To do a clean install of Windows XP you must have a windows 9x CD to prove that you are eligible for the upgrade. There is no way around this. However, it doesn’t have to be a genuine CD, so if you know somebody who will let you copy their CD that will work. You may want to check out garage sales that are selling old computers if they have the OS disc with it.
As for installing a copy on the same hard drive, that is OK as long as it is on a separate partition. This will make it a dual boot PC, but do not install it to the same partition as both installs may become unstable and have to be formatted and re-installed.
