One detail missing on other answer.
When you boot up, you will taken to new screen. Here you will choose what OS you want to run. No mouse here, just arrow keys and enter. Highlight the OS with arrow keys and press enter, then boot is normal from this point. You have about 30 seconds to choose or it load the Windows 7 as default.
Great! so you wanna play with windows 7… MUCH better than vista. Ok nitty gritty…
1. Back up all of your pics, movies, music, porn (j/k), programs will have to suffer if the worst case scenario happens (You format the wrong drive)
2. You don’t have to format your current HDD if you’re already running XP just stick the windows 7 into your cd rom and boot from it… during setup.. choose manual partitioning setup… choose the drive that DOESN’T HAVE WINDOWS XP SHOWING!!!!! install windows 7 and it will modify the master boot record to allow you to choose which os you would like to boot into… (finally Microsoft got something right the FIRST time)
Bam you’re done!
