   My suggestion would be to open the event viewer and browse though the logs to see what can cause the lagging. Could be a damaged hard disk? Your system is quite good and there should be no problem with vista on it. Also try to schedule a disk check (with all the options selected) and then reboot.

   i think you should use tune-up utilities i use it all the time it cleans up your pc makes suggestions to make it faster and it removes a lot of unnecessary files you didnt kno were there in a week i get back about 2 gigs from my hard drive.
