This could be the result of a few things, but it shouldn’t have anything to do with Firefox.
1) The SSID (wireless network’s name) you specify on your computer differs from the one broadcast by your router.
2) The router has MAC address filtering enabled. In other words, if your computer isn’t in the router’s list of "allowed" computers, you won’t be able to connect even if your information is right. Go into your router’s configuration to see if this is the problem, check the manual if you don’t know how to get to it.
3) Your wireless key has changed either on the router or on your PC. Make sure that you’re entering the correct wireless security key.
4) Your computer is connecting to your router OK but the internet is down. Check your cable modem/DSL or call your internet provider to see if there’s an outage.
This kind of thing is really tough to diagnose from afar… if you know a computer whiz best thing to do is have him/her come over to help get things running. Hope this helps.
