   If you didn’t back up your registry before you did whatever you did, you’re !@#$%.

   However there is some free software you should get to keep your computer healthy. You don’t have to spend an arm and a leg like some companies would have you believe. I recommend Ccleaner for the registry. It’s free and it’s excellent. My computer works at light speed now.

   Also, there are good anti-virus programs out there. And yeah they are free. Below is a list of a few.

   AVG
   AntiVir
   Adaware
   SpyBot
   SuperAntiSpyware
   Windows Defender
   HijackThis (HijackThis is for experienced users only who know how a computer works and understand configuration, file extension meanings, etc.)

   Also next time you run a program that gets rid of viruses. You should turn off your System Restore before you do it. The back up files of bad software may hide in system restore otherwise.

   Keep in mind that doing the "housecleaning" maintenance on your computer is not an option. It’s mandatory if you want to keep your computer running like it should and are on the internet so much like many of us in the modern world are.
