Hi, I just want to get rid of whatever is slowing down load time. It seems to take a little longer to do very simple tasks than before. I don’t go to any BS sites or anything. Someone said that when you install something then decide to uninstall it, some things may get left behind and after a while it takes longer to search through left over files just to do very simple things. Thanks for any help!

One, clean out junk files and the registry with this free tool, CCleaner, http://www.ccleaner.com/ then find anything that it didn’t catch with TweakNow RegCleaner, http://www.tweaknow.com/RegCleaner.html then download install and run all of the following, Adaware SE Personal, Spybot S&D and Windows Defender.
Then to get your PC booting and running faster I have some tips for you. One, remove unwanted startup programs by going to Start > Run and type msconfig in the box and click OK go to the Startup tab and Google the entries to see if you can safely remove them, if you can, uncheck the entries click OK and reboot.
You aren’t done yet. There is another free tool to optimize the way Windows runs so get TuneXP, http://www.driverheaven.net/dforce/showdoc.php?doc=txp_download follow the user guide on exactly what to do for your particular configuration, it is easy to follow. We are still not done. The next thing you will want to do is apply some registry tweaks (you can either do this manually or download the .reg file to do it for you), I have that guide over here, http://xgatech.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=1315&keywords=tweak what you do is up to you on that one. The link to BootVis (boot optimizer) is in the article. If you do all of this your PC will be running faster than it was when it was brand new out of the box.
The best way to make your computer faster is to format the c: drive beware you must have all the drivers. When you haven’t done this before don’t do it, sure you will forget something. Don’t ever delete a folder from the program folder. Only use the configuration screen click on software and then delete the software, but I think you have a virus go to http://www.free-av.com and install.
Download Ad-aware from Download.com
Download Microsoft Anti-Spyware (Destroyer) from microsoft.com
Download AVG Anti-virus free edition from avg.com
(All are free downloads)
Run them in safe mode and restart your computer and your ready to go!
Some options that you can try.
1. Uninstall unwanted software.
2. Remove non-used folders from your C drive.
3. De-Fragment your hard drive.
4. Download Spybot SD from download.com and run the option to clean the registry.
hope that helps.

In contradiction to what freddybossy said – PLEASE DONT FORMAT YOUR C DRIVE – THAT WILL SIMPLY DELETE EVERYTHING YOU HAVE.
You can Defragment it.
And as I sed, you can DELETE UNWANTED PROGRAM FOLDERS. SOME OF THEM SIMPLY TAKE THE SPACE ON YOUR HARD DRIVE AND DO NO GOOD TO THE SYSTEM.
