Have you tried updating the video card driver?
If there is no updates then download the most recent version for the video card compatible with the operating system and save it on the desktop.
Go to Device Manager and uninstall the video card under display adapter.
uninstall all the entries under display adapter and restart the computer.
When windows loads up it will detect the missing driver for the video card and will install one for you. Most of the time Windows won’t have the driver for the video card and will install a standard driver that works for all video cards. You will know if it’s a standard driver because it will only give you 8 or 16 bits for setting the resolution and there won’t be any 32 bit settings available.
All you need to do is run the download that you saved on your destop It will replace the standard driver and install the most recent driver for your friend’s video card.
The problem your friend is experiencing is often caused by an outdated video card driver or a damaged driver. Re-installing or updating the driver will fix it if that is the case.
Have you tried to resize the monitor. It is located on your monitor. I do not know your model, but if you press the menu button on your monitor then scroll until you seen resize or autoresize.
Dont’ set on "stretch" set on "centered"
