   Since you have taken the back up of all your data so no need to worry about loosing data just format the drive and reinstall the OS. if even this doesn’t help you then there must be some problem with your laptop Hardware

   The operating system you have has a create repair disk option. It would’ve been helpful if u had done that. Seeing as you have no OS disk for this computer, you might want to buy one a re-format the hard drive. This seems like the only option, unless you know someone who has a Vista Premuim install disk. Borrow it and repair the OS. Sometimes repair doesn’t work depending upon what OS drivers are missing or has become corrupt for some reason.

   I think You have to re-install the operating system….
