Do you have enough RAM, if not upgrade.
Make sure there are no viruses
examine the HDD, most often the reason for freezes and lags can be the fragmentation of the drive, if its very high, almost every operation you mentioned gets slow. Its like when you are affected by some sickness, it takes longer to complete any task efficiently, the same happens to a heavily fragmented drive. It has to work extra hard to read fragmented files. Also make sure there is free space on the drive, else delete junk, clear temp files, uninstall unwanted programs and run disk cleanup.
Hai,
Hav u tried disk defrgamentation(start-programs-
accessories-system tools-disk defragmentation).
Remove temp files (start-run-%temp%)and delete all files.
Increase virtual memory(mycomputer-right clik-
properties-advanced-virtual memory-increase the intial
size to quite less to that of max size).
If these doesn`t do u can try by adding ram and hard disk
r reformat the windows.
maybe there is alot of debris from internet in your computer. you have to clean it by using another software. for me, i use ccleaner.
the 2nd factor is maybe your computer do not have enought of RAM. add it……
the 3rd factor is maybe there is a virus in your system. you have to update the singnature from the net.
the 4th is maybe you dont defrag the file in your system.
What do you mean "clean up". If you mean you cleared your computer of cookies and temp. Internet files – that is good – but not enough. What could be slowing you down is the presence of spyware and when you do a "clean up" System Restore does just that – restores the junk to your hard drive.
Any serious "clean up" should at least start with these two free programs – CCleaner and Spybot Search and Destroy.
Frist – turn System Restore off – Right Click My Computer – properties – System Restore Tab – check turn it off.
Secondly – boot into safe mode – Restart the computer – at black screen – continue to tap the F8 key until you see the Safe Mode boot menu. Choose Safe Mode by navigating with the arrow keys – highlight Safe Mode and hit enter. Choose your operating system (XP-?). Bunch of files will load.
Once in safe mode – run the CCleaner and Spybot. When you are sure infections are gone – turn System Restore back on.
most puters will run slow after a clean up if you don’t restart them to reflect the cleanup
did you try to scan for viruses and spywares?, that might be the problem, and you might need to defrag your computer.
Get a bigger hard drive and max out your ram.
adding more RAM helps.
Visit http://www.crucial.com and scan your computer, it will tell you what kind of ram to buy. Then buy it at computer store or online store.
The problem is probably that the computer itself is probably just slow. There are many ways to make it faster. First of all you could try to upgrade your RAM(a.k.a. memory). This gives more space for programs to run on your computer at once. Another option is to get a better processor, this is the most effective options because a faster processor can usually make a very noticeable difference.
