hi,insert your xp install disc and go through the motions of doing an istallation,after a while you will come to a window with a couple of options and one of them will be—TO REPAIR WINDOWS PRESS "R".–so press r on the keboard and windows will repair itself taking files off the install cd,when its finished you will be prompted to reboot your computer and the ONLY thing you will lose will be your MICROSOFT UPDATES you will have to go to the update site and download them all again. cheers.
