Have a "slow" PC could be a number of factors…
1. Bad Program install & or Driver Conflicts.
2. Virus, Trojan & or Malware and Spyware Infected.
3. Program files scattered all over the place and in bad need of a defrag.
Registry errors & invalid entries throughout registry…
All or just or just one of these can cause your computer to run slow…
Try considering upgrade of RAM.
There’s possibility of ur pc being infected some kind of malicious software like malware, spyware or even virus.
First of all, try Disk Cleaner (Start>All Programs>Accesories>System Tools)
Then try Defragmenter (below Disk Cleaner)
Then too if dont see ant results, scan ur pc wholly.
Tired defrag. After a long time, your computer slows down because all the files are fragmented.
PS: if you have not done this before, send me an email before you do! thomaslai0408@yahoo.com.tw
If you don’t want to, just be warned IT COULD (WILL) TAKE A VERY VERY LONG TIME!!!!!! (the next time will be faster, less to defrag)
OR
you could reformat
how big is your harddrive, and how full is it? how much ram do u have? are u using programs that exceed your ram? saying u have a slow pc is like talking to the pavement with out getting into detail of what ur pc has in it
Buy more ram it always works…RAM=random access memory is like a Secretary to your CPU AND HDD…
if your not willing to spend money on ram you have WINDOWS VIRTUALLY MEMORY in this case you will need a large HDD (HARD DISK DRIVE) what this does is actually uses your HARD DRIVE space as RAM…now you can see having only a 6GIG HDD WONT BE WORTH IT….(WELL NOW A DAY LOL) if you want to know more about virtual memory google it…in this case yahoo it … that all ways works…
Several things can cause a PC to Run Slow.
1.Insufficient Memory (RAM) is one. XP should have 512MB RAM. Vista should have at least 1GB of RAM. To see what is happening with your RAM open up TASK MANAGER (Ctr-Alt-Del). Click on the Performance TAB. Look at the PF USAGE graph. If that number is larger than the TOTAL in the Physical Memory section you need to add more RAM. Note PF usage is in MB and Physical Memory is in KB.
2.Another problem is two many programs running when you turn on the PC. The only Programs, other than the OS, that should be running is your Virus Checker and your Spy Ware checkers. Along with this, some Anti Virus Programs, or All in One programs consume a lot on resources. Consider uninstalling them and using AVG, Ad-Aware and Spy-Bot. Third party Fire-Wall programs can also use a lot of memory. Go to START – Run – type MSCONFIG and in the start up tab, disable all of the programs listed and reboot. If your performance improves, turn them back on one at a time until you find the one causing the problem.
3.You have VIRUS or Trojan or some other form of malicious software running. Check all your running processes. Process Explorer is a very good program. There are some very good FREE anti Virus and Anti Spy Ware programs on line. Like House Calls.
check your drive for adware, spyware, and temp files.and if all these fails then reformat it after restoring the system settings.

Check for virus and spyware, if needed, add more memory. Registry cleaner is not the total answer to this.
