I am not a pc guru, but sounds like vista had a conflict with your download.
If you have to re-install vista…you will lose your files.
Since you have access to another pc….why not check the MS/vista website for problems connected to "kaspersky". And look at the Kaspersky site for problems with MS/vista.
For me, dumping windows and installing Linux Ubuntu work out real good. I’ve been on it for 3 months now without a problem. But, that may not be what you are looking for.
Hi There,
I have read of problems where antiviru applications can interfere with drivers for the video adapter.
Do not remember exactly which ones but I suspect that is the cause of the problem.
You need to uninstall Kapersky (if it has installed….probably did not install) and go ahead and run the system repair using the operating system reinstallation disk.

If drivers are requested during the repair they will be on the driver/utilities disk.
Just follow the prompts.
Once the system has been repaired, make sure the firewall is enabled and download and install a different antivirus application. Recommend Avast, Avira or AVG. Do a google search for one of them and download the windows 32 bit version for your system.
Hope this helps,
Al
