I have a ‘Restore’ disk that was made for my computer. How can I use that to make it run faster and clean up my computer? Do I just put it in and it does everything?

go to my computer right click on drive d then click properties a thing will come and tell u how much space ur using then delete some stuff until ur thing goes to the middle
Download a program called "Tuneup Utilities". Run the "one click maintenance " once a week.
Just use Ccleaner http://ccleaner.com
Delete temporary internet files, and delete the contents of your prefetch folder, and in msconfig>startup deselect unimportant programs, confirm, and reboot.
back up your favorite files, and reinstall windows xp, that’ll make it squeaky clean, then after that, you’ll need to reinstall the drivers, all of which you could probably find on http://www.driversguide.com
then install sygate personal firewall voila, it’ll run most awesomely
also, for an added upgrade you can write down the model number of your computer for instance mine is a "Dell Inspiron 1501" go to best buy’s computer section, talk to a salesperson and ask them which memory stick are compatible with that model
open up your laptop/pc stick the memory in (with the power off of course) and bam instant sexification XD
