I need to ged rid of many programs and files on my computer but it takes a log time to do it one by one, I'd like to know how can I clean up my system since is runing slow and has too much junlk on it. I already tried to format the hard drive but it won't let me do it, I need help please…

Well, it depends on what you want to do, with free or pay for.
Run disk cleanup under System Tools. Definitely run defrag after all this is done.
Get a registry editor, and one that cleans out all the unuseful entries, I use regclean, but I find Norton One Touch does a better job at cleaning.
Run ADAWARE SE to get rid of many things that might be there. Spyware adverts, malware entries in the registry.
Thats a basic thing to do.
I would also run Chkdsk. Can run this from command line, or go to My Computer right click on properties of C drive, go to tools under this, and select the two options. It will take a while but this will run chkdsk with an R switch and it cleans up all bad sectors and helps in system speed
Check ZD Net, and C Net for other useful house keeping utils
