If u have NTFS partitions , u can try compression (Right click each ntfs drive-> check Compress disk drive to save space. This will have almost no effect on your computer performance.
Also you could try reducing page file images on each of your drives (assuming all/one of your drives are monitored for paging) But this will definitely degrade your performance. Try removing old backup files, removing redundant restore points, cleaning ur recylce bin etc.
And then start deleting data that you are saving for years but which you dont really need.
If all of above dont help, visit Tom’s Hardware/ or google and look for a new HDD.
Delete some programs from your hard disk OR copy some programs which are rarely used to a DVD, then so you can get as much as space you require.
this happened to me. what i did was i looked around on the previously downloaded items and i found out there were a bunch of things installed that we never use. if u have any old worthless games installed or anything like that uninstall it and it gives the computer more room and it will run faster. another thing i did was, and idk if ur computer is a pc, where it has multiple user acounts, but i deleted one of them. try and stay away from downloading different things like adobe flash player, which for most people isn’t necessary, and ur computer should run lots faster and of tons more room. good luck.

Wow, 3%? Crazy.
Go into Add Remove programs. You’re sure to find programs in there you NEVER use. Sort by size.
Then do a disc clean-up.
Then do a disc defragmenter.
Delete programs and pictures and files you don’t need in the future and don’t use. Delete all nonsense, it should clear up a lot of space. Good luck!
Buy another hard drive. If you don’t want more storage, quit being a pack rat and delete things you no longer need. I know that free trial of Scrabble was fun, but it’s expired and you don’t need it anymore.
Quickest way is to delete unwanted programs and files. Store unised files onto a disk or CD. Uninstall unwaunted programs and re"clean" your drive for more space.
Failing that, you can aloways add a secondary drive. Or even get a USB hard drive… it simply plugs into your USB port and actslike extra storage for you. they are pretty cheap nowadyas.. about 99$ for a decent one.
