Copy all that good stuff to a CD or DVD.
When done and happy, use Control Panel > Uninstall Programs
A dialog window appears, highlight the ‘junk’ you don’t want and click
‘Uninstall’, ‘Dump’, Get Rid Of’, ‘Make Vamoose’, ‘Remove’ ‘Delete’ or whatever it was called in Windows XP.
This will ‘disintegrate’ the ‘junk’ you don’t want as well as clean up the Registry and remove any icons you have for the program (application) on the desktop (not the icons you may have put in other folders for the same app).
Keep doing that until you’re happy and smiling.
You said, "Completely clean up."
Does that mean ‘Format the HDD too?’
If so, (which I do NOT recommend), you may need an outside disk with the format command on it.
How to do that (format) I won’t say, as you don’t sound ‘techie’ enough to be fiddlin’ with formatting an HDD.
Pardon me all to pieces fer bein’ so fussy.
😉
By cleaning up, what exactly do you mean?
You can download CCleaner and it will delete all unnecessary files off the computer and its free.
Burn a DVD with the music and documents 🙂
Thats the best way , as it makes sure you have a backup.
