How can I keep winfixer from knocking me off my computer?

Everytime I’m on-line, winfixer pops up and takes me hostage, unable to exit, it knocks me off-line.

first off run firefox, not IE,
winfixer is one tough one to remove off your system once it burrows in, goggle winfxer for solution on how to remove.

if it is a virus use a virus scan
if it is a pop up download yahoo or google toolbar with pop up blocker
if it is a problem were you hit back and it links somewhere else hit the home button to go to the default page
