Click Apply/OK then reboot.
Also get a lean AV suite. AVG 8.0 is free and offers virus and spyware protection. Use the builtin WIndows Firewall.

System RAM upgrades are also a good idea. It costs money though. Minimum 1GB for XP and 2GB for Vista.
Use internet explorer and install the ActiveX control then run the scanner to determine what RAM your system uses and how much you can put in.

Please edit your comment to include what hardware you have if you know. Go to my computer right click and go to info. If your on a Mac click the apple and go to about this mac and then click more info.
Please post what processor speed and memory you have.
Memory is a big deal, before over clocking your memory see if you can add more. Over clocking will cancel warranty on your hardware.
Hi there,
You can overclock it by going into the bios at startup. If you don’t know how to do it I would STRONGLY suggest finding someone who does.
You can add RAM to the machine. This will make the machine quicker as well.
Oh, and if you are running any programs that don’t need to be there get rid of them. Norton utilities, for example, can be run from a CD, and it’s processes when installed on the computer slow it down.
push start, then run, then type MSCONFIG, then click the startup tab. If there is anything there you can untick that might help as well.
