I would suggest you to download reginout to fix this.
You need to take three steps to speed up your computer or laptop:
1. Add more RAM
2. Uninstall and delete all software’s that you do not use.
3. Select a good System cleaner and PC optimizer such as Reginout from Intel Software Directory http://ibx.intel.com/directory/Default.aspx
I am sure these three steps will help you a lot.
Thanks.
The problem with slow computers is that most of the time. It’s all to do with a hidden part of your system .This part of your system is called the ‘registry’ and is a huge database which stores all the settings and options for your PC.The reason why the registry is responsible for making your computer run slow is because it is actually prone to getting corrupt and damaged. Because Windows is constantly using the database when you’re using your computer, it’s constantly got 100’s of registry files open. This unfortunately means that Windows gets confused, leading it to save the registry files wrong, making them incredibly difficult for your computer to read. Think of them as files which are all jumbled up, making your computer have to spend longer to read them. You just need to be able to clean out all the damaged files from the registry, allowing Windows to read all the files it needs, when it needs them. And to do this, you just need to use a tool called a ‘registry cleaner’.I should like to commend Registry Easy to you ! http://clean-up-registry-faster-pc.com
clean out all the files that you have

go to msconfig and disable those unessential start up items form running, you can configure some processes using task manager and make sure that you have a large RAM for it to function properly. Windows xp recommends 512Mb RAM to function properly
You could do what everyone but Vomit told you and accomplish nothing (or make it worse), or you could find out WHY it’s slow and fix it.
Without knowing the specs, or anything for that matter, on your computer it is difficult to say.
The two most basic ways to get more speed are:
1. Defragmenting – When computers break up files into little pieces for the sake of space, it takes longer for the computer to actually open the file or run a related program because it needs to go and all over the place to find all the scattered pieces. You can defragment using either the basic Windows tool or more advanced programs if you want to be thorough (PerfectDisk has a nice free demo program).
2. RAM upgrades – more RAM generally means better speed. New or extra RAM sticks are typically purchasable for under $50 and will greatly boost performance.
You can also try using the proverbial digital laxitive and clean out all the hidden and excess junk. I rely on a nice little cleaning program called Bleachbit whenever I want to clean house. It tends to get down into the hard to reach places that the disk cleanup won’t even touch. Using it once a week it deletes on average about 150MB worth of junk and 250 files per cleaning, which is quite a bit. There have even been times when it has gotten rid of over a Gigabyte of junk for me that I wouldn’t have known was there otherwise.
Since no one has been able to help you with anything other than………..
First things first.
Go to start—-run— type in MSCONFIG and hit enter. Click on the startup tab and make sure there isn’t a checkmark in any of the boxes.
Now open up a web browser and go to avast.com and get their free antivirus program. When it is done downloading go to control panel add/remove programs and uninstall norton, mcaffe, what ever you are running for anti virus if it isn’t Avast. Avast has the smallest system foot print and will not impede your system nearly as much as the others. When your old antivirus is uninstalled go to where you saved the avast file and install it.
Now restart your computer in safe mode. To do that ::
Close all open programs.
Click Start, Run and type MSCONFIG in the box and click OK
The System Configuration Utility appears, On the BOOT.INI tab, Check the "/SAFEBOOT" option, and then click OK and Restart your computer when prompted.
The computer restarts in Safe mode.
Perform the troubleshooting steps for which you are using Safe Mode.
When you are finished with troubleshooting in Safe mode, open MSCONFIG again, on the BOOT.INI tab, uncheck "/SAFEBOOT" and click OK to restart your computer
when in safe mode go to start—-run—DFRG.MSC start the defragmenting and go watch TV, go to bed, do what ever for the next few hours. when it is done restart your PC and you will have a huge speed improvement.
The only other things that will help you is more ram or a fresh install of XP.
Here is what you need to do bro,
Left click on the start botton the look for an icon that says my pc or my computer then right click on it the go to properties the if you look alll the way down the box that is gonna pop out look where it says RAM if you have less than 512 MB you need to get more RAM but if ur computer says that you have more than that you probably have a virus that is slowing down try to get spybot is free & is also a good tool for viruses. good luck
All you’re going to get is a bunch of generic and not terribly helpful advice as you’ve told us NOTHING about the specs of your computer.
first delete some things that you dont need. Then get a virus protector and remove and viruses.
then download advanced system care (free) (getting a professional account is easy but illegal and it is necessary to speed up your computer so make this your best answer and i’ll make sure to tell you how)(since its against rules to talk about illegal things in Y!A)
click the icon in control panel with the circle on it tht says maintenance or something like that. Then scroll down and click Defragment my Hard Drive. It will take quite a while, but it should get things going quicker
Get a good security system first like norton 360 ! and then run a disk defragmenter … go to the start thing and in the search bar type it in and start it it helps alot it doesnt mess up your info or anything
If you don’t have anti-virus get some it cleans out all the spywear and spam off your computer and this will help it run faster.
I suggest first downloading this program called CCleaner: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
Once you get it installed, run it to clean your computers temp, cookies, and history files. It can also remove unused and invalid registry entries (Issues – scan for issues).
Then START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>SYSTEM TOOLS>DISK DEFRAGMENTOR.
You won’t get lightning fast speeds by doing this, but it will help.
