   You will have to gain access to a Mac computer in order to be able to recover the files.

   The problem is that the drive is formatted in a Mac-proprietary file system, HFS, so Windows computers are unable to address them.

   Then, once you load them on a different Mac computer, you can transfer them to a drive that is formatted in FAT32 which is one that both Mac’s and PC’s can recognize.
