I used a thumb drive and installed Malwarebytes onto my laptop and it removed the Antivirus 2009. Now I can surf the web, get windows updates and things I couldnt do before. But, when I go to get Mcafee from comcast something blocks the page from being viewed. How can I get around this to access virus protection?

I personally would skip the McAffee anyway…..it does not do a very good job….as far as things I have encountered…( I am in IT for my work…so I deal with that stuff on a regular basis…!)
I would recommend..several things that helped me a lot and should you to..
malwarebytes is great…good program for a manual scan and is free… update it often and run a full scan once a week..and quick scans every couple days…
another freebie that does well and is good to have is IOBit security 360..
http://www.iobit.com/
it is totally free..and is a good compliment to malwarebytes….
another to add for real time protection is spyware terminator… it is free as well..
http://www.filehippo.com/download_spyware_terminator/
it works real time to check things as they are accessed…and you can schedule scans and run manual scans as well…
and for anti-virus…I would suggest Avira or avast…..
http://www.filehippo.com/download_antivir/
http://www.filehippo.com/download_avast_antivirus/
both are great… but only use one anti-virus program on one system…and you can use multiple anti malware….and anti-adware..etc.
I set this up on my friends system….
Avira for anti-virus….free
IObit security 360…free
Malwarebytes …. free
Spyware terminator….free ….for real times scanning for security.
all work well together…
and here is the link to a guide to got rid of the nag screen for avira…( they as you to buy it but you dont have to just close the screen..)

hope the advice is helpful…. if you need any other tips feel free to email me.
To retrieve Comcast McAfee Antivirus provided by ISP’s contract, you would login to comcast.net, then go to your account management and find McAfee in there. You may need to do a search for McAfee on comcast.net and it may have a shortcut link.
It will request your login information once again to approve the free purchase of McAfee.
Good job with the malwarebytes. I’d run a deep scan again. Are you trying to download McAfee from the Comcast site? Also try Superantispyware to clean further. If you can’t get to McAfee get Avast or AVG. The’re both free.
you’ve missed the fact that antivirus 2009 is a computer parasite and it is definitely not an antivirus.
try to run avg to remove this infection.
however, you need anti-spyware to remove a threat like antivirus2009
and avg might not work because avg is antivirus.
you can also delete antivirus 2009 infection manually, reinstalling system.
remove fast:
