My Computer is super slow I have ran clean up and defragmented and i have all of the latest protection. I also have plenty of disc space. I think that programs are being loaded automatically on start up and I want to remove the uneccessary ones.

The easiest way is to go to Start/ All Programs / Startup. Any shortcuts there, you can just delete them… but most programs hide from you now.
Plus, it is possible to have the program pop up a "searching for bla bla" when you start up, because the shortcut being gone. I know that was bad on win98.
Start -> Run
then type in "msconfig" (without the quotes)
and click on startup tab….VOILA
Go to Start/run then type in "msconfig" without the quotation marks. When the window opens, click on the startup tab and voila… 🙂
you can uncheck them from startup
click start, run and type in MSconfig
then click ok, it will all be in there.
1. Click Start > Run
2. Type "msconfig".
3. Then click the Startup tab.
The suggestions above will work, but a better program to use is CCleaner.exe. Not only does it remove old files, it will also clean the registry and allow you to delete any programs that are being started.
