You have prolly have a bunch of junk in your computer. I would go to Programs & Features (assuming you are running Windows 7) and uninstall everything you don’t need. Also run spybot search and destroy and Malawarebytes anti-malware (google for them) they will remove any software you didn’t know you had (spyware/malware). Also google how to remove programs from starting up.
There could be several things that are causing the problem. First, and most important, make sure that you have a good anti-virus installed and that it is up to date. Next, download and run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to remove any malware on your PC.
Assuming that you have done both of these things and the PC is still slow, then you need to look at what programs start up when your PC is turned on. These run or at least idle in the background and can use up CPU cycles and make the PC slow. There are utilities called "start-up cops" that will help you find and delete these, but be conservative when using them as you don’t want to delete a necessary program.
Finally, how much free disk space do you have? It is possible that you are getting cramped by a lack of free space on your hard disk – you need 8 or 10 megabytes free at least. If it is below that, delete some of the obsolete data on the hard drive. Once this has been done, de-frag the hard drive using the appropriate Windows utility.
use ccleaner, and disk defragmenter(or download defraggler(or defragler)),they both can be found on filehippo.com both are freeware.
If you are talking about physical cleaning the best way to do so is by a vacuum cleaner. Open case > suck all the dust > close case. Do note that you must use a device that sucks dust rather than blows it. If you use an air compressor you would get a lot of dust stuck between parts and you could damage it.
If you are talking about a "software clean" the best way to do so is by reinstalling your Operating System.
First do a backup of your important files on a usb drive, dvd disk or on other partition on you hardrive. Then reinstall your os, reinstall drivers and reinstall all software like browsers, chat clients etc.
Defragment you hard drive, uninstall unnecessary files/applications, disable startup programs that aren’t needed. This will keep hard drive usage optimized and minimize your memory usage
Do your scans. Antivirus, malware, spyware, etc. A very good free antivirus is Avast, Malwarebytes Antimalware is a very good anti malware program. Spybot Search & Destroy is a good program for spyware removal
Open the case and make sure fans/heatsinks are free of dust buildup
You need to get a duster safe for the computer and use that. then use a good screen cleaner that will not streak or smudge (office depot brand) the use a clean rag to dab, then rub. hope this helps. 😀
if you download too much it’ll slow down your computer..
or maybe there are viruses.. google download.com and click on the first link which will take you to http://download.cnet.com/ On search whick is on the top right, type in malaware bytes and where yo see Malwarebytes Anti-Malware clcik on download now..or go on youtube and type in how to get rid of viruses it explains it better than i do..lol
