   CCleaner works great for cleaning and fixing registry problems.
   It also works great at deleting spammy junk files hidden in your computer.

   Free download here: http://download.cnet.com/ccleaner/

   Once it’s downloaded, open it, and click "Registry" on the right.
   Then scan for issues and once all issues are found, click "fix selected issues" and then "fix all selected issues".
   You may want to scan for issues a few times to make sure CCleaner catches all of them,
   it misses some every once in awhile.

   CCleaner was already mentioned but I find Glary Utilities to do more than what CCleaner can:

   One word: CCleaner! Along with cleaning the registry, this freeware program removes temporary and unnecessary files from your computer. Your documents are unaffected.

   The best way to clean the registry is to get a program that will do it for you. It is not recommended to attempt to edit your registry yourself, If you are novice at how operating systems work, stay away from "regedit". Try this site. http://www.tweaknow.com/
   It is a free registry cleaner, I have never tried it but I have no registry problems. Good Luck

   Click on the registry button, run it.

   CCleaner is a good program for cleaning out the registry and also temp files and other junk.

    Registry cleaners are overrated. The Registry is a structured file, so searches are very efficient. Some extra stuff hanging around won’t appreciably slow down your machine.

    On the other hand, a bit of over-aggressive or ignorant entry deleting can cause far more problems than you already have.

    This is one situation where cleanliness isn’t necessarily next to anything.
