I will agree with everyone that you should not clean your registry manually. Even a pro would make mistakes with that, so a novice like yourself would definitely not know what to delete and would most likely render the PC unusable. Use CCleaner or better yet – Auslogics Registry Cleaner. Both are free. I personally found CCleaner to be a little too aggressive at times with registry cleaning, so I only use Auslogics for that task – http://www.auslogics.com/en/software/Registry-Cleaner/
You can use either one or get another highly-rated registry cleaner from download.com, but ALWAYS be sure to create a backup prior to using any registry cleaner.
Good luck!
Rule number one, you don’t mess with registry file, unless you know what you are doing. Either buy or install free well reputed softwares and run it through that.
you cannot do that manually. It takes a program like CCLEANER to do that. If you were to try it you would most likely make the computer useless. A program like ccleaner looks at all the things in the registry and checks to see what they link to. You cannot do that manually.
Universal advice: NEVER modify your registry by hand unless you really know what your doing, you can destroy your Windows install.
That being said, there are several programs you can use that are specifically designed to find bad registry entries and remove them. My favorite in this category is called CCleaner (it will also do several other useful tasks which are good to run on a regular basis.
I applaud you on taking the initiative to keep your computer healthy.
Download CCleaner and it will do the task for you without much hassle:

try systemcare pro: http://is.gd/sX08bj
it is a smart registry cleaner app that can do the job easily.
hope it helps.
