One simple way to do it without downloading any program like CCleaner is a little self-help. Go to Control Panel and then select Internet Options. Click it and under the General page, you can then select Delete Cookies…then click OK when prompted. Do the same for Delete Files… which is just beside and click OK. Just below, under the Clear History tab, click it follow by Yes when prompted and Voila ….
ccleaner is very quick
CCleaner
=========
google ccleaner and install it. While it installs just untick the boxes as some you dont want.
run the cleaner in windows/applications but dont tick the bottom 11 boxes in the Windows Tab.
run the registry cleaner as well, when it asks to back up the registry , allow it to do it, then clean the registry.
Also ccleaner will uninstall programs that you may have difficulty with in add/remove, or there is a file missing.
Just ensure you tick the one program and not the whole computer to delete.
You should check out CCleaner its a freeware tool that automates a lot of things like that.

To delete browsing history and temporary internet files go to My computer > Control panel > Internet Options > Then search for a delete button regarding the history and temporary internet files. Once you have deleted them you can make sure they have totally been removed by clicking settings within internet options and then pressing view objects and view files. If these are clear of any websites (objects may have some default sites) then your browsing history has been removed.
