.What you need is a file deletion programme, in essence all this does is write a random sequence of 1s and 0s to the disc completely eradicating all files. Go to this link where you can get free downloads and more information. . http://www.thefreecountry.com/security/
The best way would be to remove the hard disk and dispose it off separately. That way you can be assured that nothing is left behind.
the best thing to do would be pull out and keep or destroy the hard drive, that is the only way to be 100% certain your old data won’t turn up somewhere else, whoever you sell or trade it too can get a replacement hard drive for $50 or less

It sounds as if you have picked up a virus that the anti-virus scanner will not find. What you need to do is reformat your hard drive in order to wipe all data from the system. If you have a copy of your windows OS you can insert the disk into the drive and it will let you wipe your drive clean.
Do a clean install which is like starting with a new computer again.
After you complete the clean install, make sure you DELETE the windows.old file left in your hard drive. This is very important as it is a backup of your old system.
Easy way is format and reload the OS, if you have the recovery CD’s from the manufacturer, then you can boot thru the cd and redo the OS.
Hope this helps.
