I’m running Windows XP on an HP Pavilion. Recently, I’ve been receiving numerous alerts that there is some kind of spyware on my computer, and to run a scan and active virus protection. However, I do not wish to do so as there is no sensitive information on my computer. The alerts are very frequent and interruptive, but I can’t figure out how to disable them.

How about a 20 # sledge hammer? No ? okay then go to your control panel click on maintenance then in the upper left hand corner click on system restore go back as far as possible and try that…………good luck
Disabling the anti-virus software is never a good idea unless its done temporarily for troubleshooting purposes. Even if you have no sensitive information on the computer the spyware could cause other problems.
That being said you should be able to disable the warnings by going to the control panel, clicking on security then clicking internet options and reducing your security levels.
you have malware, http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php download this and update. run a scan. its free
What Anti-Virus Program Are You Using????
