Press F8 repeatedly at start up to enter start options choose safe mode and back up.
Press F2 for set up and trouble shooting.
Windows XP does not have a built in system recovery partition so one has no choice but to use the system recovery disc.
You have two options, 1: do a system repair, 2: do a system re install.
Both can be done using set of operating system recovery/install disc.
Full System Restore (Destructive) Using System Recovery CD/DVD

Try doing F8 again then running it in Safe mode, Try that a couple of times. I dont sugest a mac because there shit for a peice of computer/Lunix. This also could be that theres Hardware Failure Which could be done Via Bios Setting but thats not what any one person to be doing. You need experience but try what i first said and if not reinstall Windows
I don`t think there`s anyway you`re going to be able to do this unless you restore factory settings, even that may not be an option as it could be a hardware problem.
Do you restore to factory settings, that will delete your personal data.
You will need to recover the data using something like asoftech data recovery. http://www.asoftech.com/adr/
I’ve had to use it many times in the past but it will require that you plug that drive into another system as an external drive or slave drive and run the software from there. It will rebuild the drive and hopefully recover the files.
Good luck.
