did you run windows 7 update adviser beofre installing Ultimate? Your PC may not be compliant to run ultimate? Could be hardware related?
If you have any important data on your laptop then you need to be getting it off before you do anything else, The BSoD usually means reinstalling the operating system, and could cause you to lose all the data.
There is one sure way to get the data off the hard drive, That is to use a Linux systems boot up disk, Linux will read all MS file formats, You boot this program up and run it from memory, you then remove the disk from the drive, put a blank cd/dvd into the drive and copy your data to the cd/dvd,
