Most computers actually run slow because of a hidden part of your system, which is constantly being used by Windows. This part of your PC is called the "registry" and is the central database for Windows, which stores everything from your latest emails to your desktop wallpaper. It’s one of the most important parts of Windows and can easily make your PC run slow. The more corrupt registry files your computer has, the more it struggles to read them. The files which makes it run slower and slower. To fix this, you simply need to use a registry cleaner http://make-a-computer-run-better.com . These are small software tools which actually work by scanning through the registry and fixing any bad files that are in there. This then allows Windows to read as many files as it wants, when it wants to.
I have two computers, one running XP and the other Vista Ultimate. My XP computer has a Pentium 4 processor, so I’ve had to learn how to keep it fast because it is running such new programs as Microsoft Office and COD 4.
1. Do not keep your desktop cluttered with files. When you log on and you desktop is cluttered, it has to load all of those files. If they are in folders, only the folders load, and the numerous files load when you open the folder(s).
2. Keep your computer virus free. (duh!)
3. Don’t load on it too many high end and newer programs… XP isn’t designedto deal with stuff like that, so the more new programs you have, the slower. (If I had tried to put COD 5 on my XP, it would have no doubt caught fire)
4. Don’t let your computer get really hot, either. Keep it in a well ventilated area, at least 1 foot from any walls in all directions.
use disk clean up weekly, and disk defragmenter bi- weekly, or monthly. these can be found on the start menu, all programs, and accessories, then system tools. you will find both in that menu.
User a Good Washing Powder for a clean PC and a Good Fuel for the Fast PC.
hi beni, very good question i studied for hours on this very subject and there is a few things that you can do the first thing is to reboot when you see your windows logo start tapping f8 this will bring you a safe mode sceen scrol down to last good configuration (advance) when you get to your desktop hit start>programs>accessories>system tools scrol down to system restore there you see a calender hit the first lit number to your far left now your system is restore then reboot atoumaticly. ehrn you get back to your desktop hit start>settings>control panel hit the internet options icon there delete your history and cookies now exit back to your desktop now go back to system tools and defragment this is a very important step so make sure it completes. good luck hope i was helpful to you
