Try this:
Open you registry (Start/Run/type regedit and press OK button)
On the Registry Editor widow pres File/Export and safe your registry on your Desktop (this will back up your registry).
On the left, find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon, In winlogin look for shell and double click on it.
Change the value from "Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\csrss.exe" to "Explorer.exe". Close Registry Editor, logout and log back in.
If you want to be sure the file is not a virus, scan your machine with X-Ray Scanner, it will give you detailed info about all processes, including csrss.exe
C:\Windows\System32\CSRSS.exe is a vital part of Windows, which is why the computer crashes.
Your best bet is probably to run a Windows repair. If you have a Windows CD, boot from it. When it asks what you want to do (repair or install), select repair.
If you have a system restore disk or partition, you may still have this option. Some system restore systems only allow you to restore the computer to factory new condition (erasing all of your files), others will allow you to do a Windows install, which will get you to the repair option.
If you have access to another machine running the same version of Windows, you might be able to copy the file from the running machine to the crashing one. This will be somewhat difficult since, in safe mode, you don’t have access to all of your hardware, like USB drives.
Once you get the computer running again, immediately run a disk scan and repair any disk errors. And back up your important files! This is probably just a fluke, but you don’t want to chance loosing all of your files. If the computer did not come with restore disks, you should be able to create one set; if you haven’t made the disks, do that right after you finish the disk scan, in case the hard drive does fail.
