   Reset the CMOS using the jumper.

   Double check all your connections.

   Is the motherboard shorting out? Take the mobo out of the case and try powering it up outside.
   Sometimes you might have dropped a screw into the case and got it between the mobo and the motherboard tray and that could also screw things up.

   Posting all the info such as brand, full model number and installed OS helps to get the best answers to any questions about computers.
   You have to use the operating system recovery disc set made for the lap top and then install a new operating system to the now blank re formatted hard drive. Order the system recovery if you do not have the original recovery / install disc set by model and serial number from the manufacturers support website or by calling them. If you have the Windows 7 full installation disc set you can use them and install the OS by putting disc one into the CD/DVD drive turn off lap top and then power it back on the install should load and begin always plug the lap top in using the power adapter when installing a OS as to not run out of battery before the install completes, allow 2 to 3 hrs and do not stop the install, you will be asked several time to restart the lap top before it has finished the install.

   You have to reinstall Windows. You should have the installation or recovery disk. If not, you will have to buy or borrow one. You need a valid key code for the disk.

   Usually, you format your HDD using the INSTALLATION DISK. I don’t know how you formatted your HDD if you didn’t have it.
