try defragmenting also along with teh other ansers.
Get at least 512 Mb ram or more.
Get a faster CPU when your mainboard supports it.
Get a second hard disk and use that one for the swap file.
Or just buy a faster computer.
Well u can get a new processor of better speed. Or format ur computer so that it cleans up ur hard disk. Or add a RAM to your computers existing RAM to get better speed……………………. 🙂
To ‘clean up your hard drive’, or rather, arrange it properly so your hard-disk data is ‘stacked up properly’, try defragging your hard disk.
Go to Start > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter to do so. You can do it once a week, if you find yourself deleting and downloading new files all the time.
To speed up your computer, buy more RAM for your computer. In that way, you can run more programs simultaneously (meaning you can be surfing the net, listening to your mp3s and running MSN messenger at the same time.) About getting more RAM, you can talk to your neighbourhood hardware store on how to do so : )
Theres a shareware program called Tune up utilities that will get rid of invalid registry entries and cleaning up the Windows registry most certainly will pick up PC performance. Then use msconfig to stop unwanted programs froms starting up when Windows starts up.
