   if you reformatted, and it’s still slow, it could be because yuo’re missing drivers. install all the correct and updated drivers

   if it’s slow for some weird reason, possible viruses, run a scan

   for the hardware aspect (which shouldn’t be, if it’s a brand new computer) try to throw some more RAM into your system..

   you will have to explain what do u mean by lost everything and how the computer turned to be XP when it first was Media Center???

   Your questions are a bit puzzling.. but as to how to make is faster, you can do the defrag, run scandisk, add memory, and last but not least, check your startup menu. You ma be running alot of unnecessary programs. By default, it is designed this way from the factory or on a fresh install. I hope this helps.
