Good luck!
The first thing you should consider when you’re looking to speed up your computer is your hard drive. If you find that your hard drive is full or close to it, you might like to think about uninstalling some of the applications you don’t usually use on a daily or even a monthly basis.
Another thing that you might want to try is a good registry cleaner. Take some time to look into free registry cleaners and learn about what they can do for your computer. Your computer’s registry is essentially where it stores the information that it needs to execute the tasks that you need it to. This can mean that you are looking at a variety of different things that can go wrong as well.
– Computer (Windows) :
1) Go to "computer / Temp" (If the "Temp" is not located there you could search it in the computer directory) and select all files in that directory and delete them ! Go back to where "Temp" is placed and "right-click" on the folder and select "Properties" and under "Attributes" click (which will make a check mark) on the box which says "Hidden" and click "Ok" !
2) Go to "Computer / ProgramData" and "right-click" on the folder and select "Properties" and under "Attributes" click (which will make a check mark) on the box which says "Hidden" and click "Ok" !
3) Go to "search" (go to your desktop and click on your keyboard "Control + F" also known as Ctrl+F / Ctr+F at the same time which will bring you to the search application) and type in "Disk Cleanup" and select the "My Files Only", select "(C:)" and then you select the following files check marked :
Temporary Internet Files
Offline Webpages
Recycle Bin
Temporary Files
– Internet :

do a disc cleanup delete temporary files you don’t need. make sure you don’t have a lot of other stuff running in the background while your trying
to do something. defrag your computer. make sure you don’t have more
than one virus and one spyware program on your computer. you don’t need more than one of each. set your maint. programs to run when your not on the computer. free up any disc space you can
You can over clock your computer.
look it up, my dad did that to my computer even tho it has like the best of the best stuff in it lol (he made it) and he just likes to over clock things anyway, but since its homemade he had to turn it off cause it was making my computer have the blue screen of death. he still needs to ix some things but on his gaming computer he overclocks it to make his games run faster.
search it on google or yahoo to find out info on it, i dont feel like asking my dad all the details to tell you.
Hmmm… For those that recommended overclocking, I dont recommend this, because, it slows your computer down from (in my opinion) heat stress.
OK… Speeding up your computer… Well, there are several options you can do.
1. Get and install a lighter, slimmer version of an Internet Browser (I use Google Chrome, fantastic, and prevents internet crashes :D)
2. Do disk cleanup to your hard drive. As your computer gets older, it gets slower because it has to recollect files which have been moving further and further apart. This may slow your computer down for a few hours, but believe me, finding files is a lot faster (after it is done)
3. Turn off things that you don’t need. Even when the computer is idle, a lot more RAM is needed. So for example, rememember that Steam account that you got last month and never use? Turn it off. Or MSN, turn it off if you dont need it, etc, etc.
4. Get slimmed down versions of programs. For example, remember that huge bloated Adobe Acrobat Reader? Well, ditch it in favour of something that does the job the same and slimmer. Like Foxit PDF reader, for example. 🙂
5. Do a scan for viruses which maybe slowing your PC down. I recommend Avira, does the job nicely, and it’s free 😀
6. Get rid of trial and old programs. The irratable thing about Trial programs is the fact that they will almost guarantee to ask for some £££ from you. In which, dont cough up your dosh, and instead opt for some open source software.
7. Clean out your recycle bin. RAM is still used to support the Recycle Bin. Clean it out, more RAM to work with 🙂
And etc. Hope that helps.
