Messenger Service(Not related to instant messaging)
Go to Start,My computer,select manage.
Brings you to Services and Applications
expand that (hit plus)
Click Services, all your windows Services will show in right window.
Scroll down to Messenger,r/click,go to properties, startup type use dropdown click disable, apply,ok.
There is a whole list of items you do not need to run xp,but this one is very high on that list.
I used firefox and ie7 with firefox as my default, only because there are simply some windows things that firefox can’t handle on a stand alone basis.
This might sound complicated but it’s really not once you get the hang of it,Good luck
You are infected with adware, try Spybot Search and Destroy and AdAware personal. These are free downloads and will fix most of these beasts. I hope this helps.
I think firefox has a stop pop ups option in its preferences. Look under content tab. Also download winpatrol and see if it is loading itself at startup. Disable everything you don’t need in start up.
